Being You Is Always Best

I have a question. Have you found that at times you are searching and following what other people are doing? You can’t quite figure out something, so you watch, you see what others do and follow along. First you were learning something, then you realize that you’re actually imitating what they do, not just learning the process, but copying everything.  I realized that I was doing that. Curious, if that’s happen to be you as well?

It’s kind of interesting. I’ve been doing lots of social media marketing and learning many different ways that people do it. It’s truly fascinating.  I end up working at my business like nonstop, early in the morning till late at night. Now, I do it because I love it. I do it because I know there is an end in sight and I can do it from home, from anywhere. I catch myself in the office frequently working, but find that I am not seeing the mass progress that the people I have been learning from and “following” are having.  I have to be honest with you. It’s not always fun nor am I doing other things that I find joyful, activities that actually can be involved in my business as well. I have struggled with knowing how to give value, what to post and even what to do. I have always felt like there has been something missing in my process.

I realized something and I’m going to share it with you.

Funny enough, it was on Valentine’s Day and I just wasn’t having a good day. I couldn’t figure out what was wrong that day, but I knew I was off, my energy, my mood, how I felt, everything.  I was having an off day. I was in this huge, massive ramp up with this fantastic mentor and was on week 4 of a 6 week program. I was right in it, upping my game and stepping outside my boundaries. This was extremely positive, but I was overdoing it and not allowing any time for anything else. So, I had a meltdown.

A couple of friends came over and really supported me through the meltdown. Then, I called another friend and business partner and explained how I was feeling.

Have you ever felt like you were banging your head against the wall and nothing was working, something was missing? You’re not making progress and you cannot figure out why? You just don’t know what the direction you’re supposed to go in is?

What Olivia said was priceless and until that moment, I didn’t realize I wasn’t doing, wasn’t be it. This was exactly why I was struggling with the whole process and certainly wasn’t having fun along the way! I had these ideas for these really cool events. You see, I live at the beach and was inspired to do these aroma therapy by the beach events and others, but hadn’t done it.

So what Olivia said was “you’re following what other people are doing, you need to follow you. You need to be you! When you are you, you’re going to post really cool things for you and for people that resonate with that. I realized that I was not doing that. I was watching what everybody else was doing. How do I do it the right way? Then I realized something, it’s not right or wrong. It just is and if I’m doing it, if I’m being me, if I’m truly being me, then it’s right. How do I know that? Because I’m doing it!

When you’re 100% you and completely authentic in that, you know what’s right, you know what you want to do and you know what makes your heart sing.  All these other things weren’t me, I couldn’t figure it out! I certainly wasn’t having fun online or posting things I liked.

Then all of a sudden, guess what? When this realization came to me, amazing posts, awesome ideas, fun things just started flowing in my mind and I went, “Oh, that’ll be fun.” The whole issue shifted and I realized I don’t have to do what somebody else does. I don’t have to do it a certain way. Cause if I’m doing it for me, that is the right way. It’s also right for the people that want to see what I’m doing and what you do!  This brings actual value to others, uplifts others!

You be you! When you’re so grounded in that, having fun and doing things that are exciting to you, people are intrigued, so much more interested and this inspires others. It’s way more interesting and so much more helpful. There’s so much more passion and heart in it. So for me, it’s motorcycles, it’s cello, it’s painting and art, it’s essential oils and doggies at the beach. It’s Italy!  It’s ME! It’s me, living balanced, grounded, in love with me, in my heart space and having fun.

There’s tips, lessons and things that we can all take from each other, that help us move along on our own path. However, we do need to be us 100% of the time.

The best tip I can ever give you is to sit and just take a deep breath and have a pen and paper nearby. Start writing down what do you love to do? What interests you, what sets your soul on fire? What really vibrates so highly, you can’t wait to do it? What are those things? That’s you authentically. You can truly give value and come from the heart space then.  I just wanted to share that with you. So, the best thing that you can always be is YOU!

You got you. Let’s make our day, every single day fun. When we wake up with inspiration and creativity in our minds and in our bodies, step forward into that space. This truly is where we’re supposed to be. It’s much more valuable than copying what someone else is doing. Take the skills learned, the lessons, use the education to figure out what works for you and Be Yourself. When you take the skills that someone else taught you and use it to do your own thing, your own way, you will find success and you WILL enjoy the journey!   I hope that gives you an AHA 😉

Go out and create something magnificent…
